The fleet is made up of dozens of local, independent fishermen. They utilize a mix of traditional skills (passed down from previous generations), acquired local knowledge, and modern fishing techniques as they selectively harvest desirable species. Fish are bled, cleaned, chilled (iced) at sea, and stored in insulated boxes as they travel back to our deep-water dock – ready to be relieved of their precious cargo in the cool, early morning hours.
Issues of ecology and our environment come naturally and are second nature to out fishermen. Efforts made to eliminate unwanted by-catch are hugely successful as is a great importance made to insure that this large sustainable resource remains so for following generations of fishermen and seafood lovers alike.
